To this end it produces a range of promotional materials such as leaflets and posters. As well as encouraging Fairtrade Towns, Churches, Schools and Colleges and Employers, each year in March it organises Fairtrade Fortnight, when local groups across the UK link up with supermarkets, wholefood shops, churches and schools to promote fair trade and an increase in sales of Fairtrade products
• the development of Fairtrade criteria. In conjunction with its partners in FLO (see below), the Foundation works to introduce new Fairtrade products and to update the standards for existing products to ensure that the benefits to producers are maximised.

Established in 1997, Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO) is an umbrella organisation that unites 20 Labelling Initiatives in 21 countries and Producer Networks representing Fairtrade Certified Producer Organisations in Central and South America, Africa and Asia.

FLO is the leading standard-setting and certification organisation for Fairtrade products.
